Why is there such a stigma around mental health in the black community? What’s the big deal? Maybe you've asked, “How do I help my loved one through this difficult time, or am I the only one going through my situation?”Many of us have so much weighing on our mind today, causing anxiety, depression, insomnia, and diminished physical health. Some don't or won't express their vulnerabilities or troubles. DeLisa Smith is a Licensed Social Worker and a Certified Mental Health Peer Support Specialist. She currently oversees the Healthy Aids Recovery Program or HARP, a grant funded Mental Health program and she facilitates support groups for those living with HIV.
She is passionate about helping people heal and living a life of servanthood.
